my speech

People all over the world understand that pets are really important.  Hi My name is Eli and I am going to be talking to you about pets and why they are an important part of my family.

Firstly pets teach us responsibility. To look after a pet They need good food and clean water. They need Exercise and you need to teach them tricks. I have a dog  called jag I teach her tricks like to sit and lie down.

Do you have a pet?  They catch pests. For example cats catch mice, rats. Dogs catch bunnies and possums.  This is good because pests eat our wild life and hurt our trees.

They clean up after you. For example if you drop food on the floor they will eat it up. And dogs will eat it off your plates. Ewwww gross don’t let them do that. And they are good cops because if you are searching for food they will bark.

While you are asleep, they might come and snuggle up with you. Some pets might lie on your lap & have a nap while you watch tv or do your homework.

Did you know dogs can help with disabilities? Guide dogs help with blind people and some dogs are trained to tell you if you are going to have a seizure.

Then why can’t pets come in schools? Because they  can get hurt and who will pay the vets and who will  feed it and who will take it for a walk.

Then they are cute and cuddly. They are fun to play with. They are silly because when they sneeze is funny. They can go crazy. When we take them for a walk they can go fast. I love pets.

Then I am going to get two more pets - that are kittens. Do you have a kitten?
